Free Six Inch Subs

Subway is trying to promote their breakfast sandwich's. The deal is that if you buy a six inch sub before 9am you get another six inch sub of your choice for free. I think this is a great idea because customers can get a breakfast sandwich and then a lunch sandwich for later on in the day. Many people are not aware of subway breakfast sandwich's and I feel this is a great way to get them out there. Who doesn't like a free sub?

  1. I agree that this is a great promotion for their breakfast sandwiches. But the question arises in my head, is subway having trouble selling their breakfast sandwiches in comparison to other restaurants, and breakfast locations such as Dunkin Donuts, Starbucks, and small town coffee shops?

  2. I feel like Subway might be a little late in getting into the breakfast sandwich arena. It seems like there are countless other food chains such as Dunkin Donuts, McDonalds, and Burger King for example, that come to my mind before Subway would. I always associated Subway with their lunch sandwiches, but I might as well give it a try.

  3. this is a great idea in my opinion. Subway has been trying to market their breakfast sandwiches for a while and this is a great idea to do that. First they tried to gat attention by using different Olympic Athletes saying that it was a great way to start the day with Subway, now they are really trying to gain attract customers. This deal is also different from their normal ""5 Dollar footlong" deal which is a great idea. They could have made the breakfast subs the monthly 5 dollar footlong deal but in making the discount a different one, they are attracting even more attention to the subs. Plus, buy one get one free is a great way to promote order differentiation.

  4. I think subways strategy is a bad idea personally because I never see myself going to subway before 11 a.m. and I would never buy a breakfast sandwich. I understand they are trying to penetrate a different market in the breakfast market but maybe they should focus on the quality of their actual food and less on the deals. On the other hand this strategy might get unfamiliar customers to come to subway and produce new customers for subway. When I first saw this advertisement I thought there is no way I will be going to subway before 9 a.m. and I feel like a lot of people are in the same boat.
